If they are closed, plase check with the concierge or the front desk at your hotel, who can best advise you.

Student Hospitality/Information Center: Bridge Hall, HBGCC.

Wireless (free!):  An Internet hotspot is located in the Networking Center in Bridge Hall, compliments of Maplesoft, and another is located on the second level of the HBGCC outside rooms 208215, compliments of Springer.  Please stop by their exhibit booths to thank these sponsors for this valuable service.

Complimentary basic Wi-Fi will also be available in the following public areas of the center: main entrance lobby, East and  West Registration, Fountain View, Parkview, Tower View, and the seating area outside rooms 1066, 1067, and the boardroom. The SSID or name of this wireless network is FREE INTERNET, no password needed. This free service is provided at 128K up and 256K down bandwidth and is suited for checking email and internet browsing, but does not support VPN (Virtual Private Networks) or video streaming. It is not uncommon for the Wi-Fi technologies included in many mobile devices to present compatibility issues with 802.11b and 802.11g Wi-Fi protocols. There are a number of additional factors which may also produce variances in service quality. Slower than expected performance may be experienced as a direct result of both the signal strength in the specific user location, as well as the number of other user sessions during that same time frame.  See page 237 in your program book for wireless options in the hotels.

Informal Gatherings and Receptions

Hands-on Playing Card Construction Workshop, organized by George Hart: Tuesday, January 13, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Room 103, Convention Center. In this workshop, everyone will build a unique mathematical construction from playing cards that are joined using slots. It is rather challenging to assemble, but the symmetry of the structure will be a guide for finding the appropriate connections. Participants can each take home their own model.
