Child Care Grants

The AMS and the MAA will provide approximately 50 reimbursement grants of US\$250 per family to help with the cost of child care for a number of registered participants at 2016 JMM. The funds may be used for child care that frees a parent to participate more fully in the JMM.

Applications were accepted on a first-come first-served basis until November 23, 2015. The deadline to apply has passed.

Final decisions on recipients will be made on or before December 1, 2015. All funds will be provided in the form a check which will be issued at the meetings. Details on this process will be sent to all recipients before the meetings but please note that each recipient will be required to submit a completed W9 form prior to the meetings to receive a check.

Please note that all recipients of the grants are solely responsible for arranging child care. They may use their grants for child care expenses from local resources in Seattle or for any other form of child care (such as hiring a nanny at home, bringing a caregiver with them to Seattle, etc.). This gives them the freedom use these funds in the way that is most useful to their families.

The JMM will not offer any on-site child care services in Seattle (as in some previous years), nor will the AMS and MAA make recommendations for child care providers.  For convenience, the following are some links and phone numbers to local child-care service providers:

Should anyone wish to use a local child care provider, he or she will need to make all the arrangements themself.
