Everyone is welcome at the JMM. The JMM Partners encourage all participants to register for the JMM. The importance of registering for the meeting cannot be overemphasized. Paying a registration fee helps to support a wide range of activities associated with planning, organizing, and executing the meetings.
All participants who wish to attend sessions are expected to register for the JMM and should be prepared to show their badges, if so requested. Badges are required to enter the Exhibits and the Employment Center. The Mathematics Meetings Service Bureau (MMSB) is the official registration and housing bureau for the meeting and will be available to assist you with your registration and housing arrangements.
To cancel a registration for the JMM, PEP programs, short course, or banquet tickets and be eligible to receive 50% of fees paid, please do so by January 3, 2022. No refunds will be issued after this date.
Register by December 20, 2021, midnight EST to be eligible for discounted registration fees. After this date, registration will continue through the end of the meeting but increased fees will apply.

Participant and Mailing Lists
To be included on the list of participants or any mailing list that is generated for the JMM, you must opt-in by checking the appropriate boxes on the registration form. Those who do not opt-in will not be included in these lists.
The list of participants will be included on the JMM newsletter, which will be distributed during the meeting. It will also be included on the JMM Mobile App. Mailing lists may be used by AMS Staff, JMM Partners, Exhibitors, and Sponsors for marketing and promotional purposes. The AMS does not disseminate email addresses of JMM participants to outside parties.
In order to keep registration fees as low as possible, save on postage, and make the JMM more sustainable, program books will not be mailed before the meeting. If you would like to receive a program book and pick it up at the meeting, please order it on the registration form. The cost for a program book is US\$5. If you do not want to receive a program book (either before the meeting or during the meeting), please skip that section on the registration form. Note that extra copies will be available for purchase during the meeting, while supplies last.
Updates and corrections received too late to be included in the program books will be included in the online program on the JMM website and in the JMM Mobile App.
Register for the Meeting
Registration can only be done online. Paper registration forms are no longer available. To register for the meeting, go to the online registration form and choose “Register.” You will be required to sign in with your AMS account to proceed. If you do not have an AMS web account, you will need to create one. After you have signed in, proceed with completing the registration form.
VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are the only methods of payment accepted for online registrations, and charges to credit cards will be made in U.S. funds. Registration acknowledgments will be sent to the email addresses provided. Once you complete your registration and pay for it, you will see a link to the hotel portal, in which you will be able to reserve a hotel room.
Register Someone Else
If you are registering someone else for the meeting, that person must have their own AMS web account. If they do not have an AMS web account, they will need to create one following the steps below. To register them, you will need the email address that they used to create their AMS web account.
On the registration form, choose “Register Someone Else.” Sign in using your personal AMS web account. If your company has an AMS web account, you may also sign in using that account. (This account information will be used as the billing address for this order.) At this point, you will be asked if you want to register someone else or yourself. Click “someone else,” and enter the email address belonging to that person’s AMS web account. Click on the green box that says “Check.” The record of the person that is linked to that email address should display. Select the correct person and continue the registration.
In order to keep registration fees as low as possible and save on postage, registration materials will not be mailed before the meeting. All registration materials must be picked up at the meeting. This includes badges and tickets. Badges and tickets can be picked up at the Joint Mathematics Meetings Registration Desk, starting at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. More details on this process will be posted in December.
All promotional flyers will be emailed to all registered participants before the meeting. A link to them will also be posted on this site and in the JMM newsletter.
Setting Up an AMS Web Account
You do not have to be a member to have an AMS web account. It is free and is used for online business transactions with the AMS. The link to register for a web account or update a web account is here. You can also find it at the top right-hand corner on most AMS web pages under “Sign in.” (See the AMS Home Page as an example.) Select “Register for a web account” to create an account or “Your account” to update it. Please note that participants should use their individual web accounts to register for the meeting. Company or institutional accounts should only be used when registering someone else.
Special Registration Codes
To allow for easy tracking of registrations for participants that belong to certain groups, some participants will need a registration code to register. Some of these groups are Commercial Exhibitors, Art Exhibitors, Career Fair Exhibitors, and Grad School Fair Exhibitors. Participants who are attending the JMM solely to exhibit in these groups should contact the MMSB at firstname.lastname@example.org to receive a code. Employers in the Employment Center should contact Programs at email@example.com to receive a code. Anyone wishing to register as Press should contact Communications at firstname.lastname@example.org. Participants in other groups will be notified directly by the MMSB.
