How to Reserve a Hotel Room
Importance of Staying in an Official JMM Hotel
The importance of reserving a room at one of the official JMM hotels cannot be stressed enough. The AMS makes every effort to keep participants’ expenses at the meeting as low as possible and a lot of work and effort goes into negotiating the most affordable hotel rates. When a participant registers for the meeting and reserves a room at an official JMM hotel, they are helping to support not only JMM 2024, but future JMMs as well.
Reserving a Room
Participants are encouraged to register for the JMM in order to reserve hotel rooms at the JMM rates. A link to the JMM 2024 hotel reservation portal will be included in the confirmations of registrations sent by email. A link to the portal will also be available at the end of the registration form, after the payment section. If a participant needs the link sent directly to them, they should send a request to email@example.com. If any participant has difficulty reserving a hotel room, they should send email to firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance. We strongly prefer that you register for the meeting before you reserve a hotel room; however, if that is not possible and you want to confirm your accommodations before registering, send email to email@example.com for a direct link to the hotel portal.
Special rates have been negotiated exclusively for this meeting at the following hotels: San Francisco Marriott Marquis, Hilton San Francisco Union Square, Marriott Union Square, Hotel Spero San Francisco, Hotel Abri, Galleria Park Hotel, and The Barnes Hotel. See details on these hotels here.
Anyone who needs to reserve a hotel room and does not have a credit card to guarantee it should send email to firstname.lastname@example.org for further instructions. If a check is being used to guarantee a room, the reservation and check must be received by the MMSB no later than November 30, 2023.
The JMM strives to take the appropriate steps required to ensure that no individual with a disability or special need is excluded, denied services, segregated, or otherwise treated differently. If special assistance, auxiliary aids, or other reasonable accommodations to fully participate in this meeting is required, it should be indicated in the appropriate section on the Registration Form or emailed to the MMSB at email@example.com. Requests for ADA-accessible rooms should be clearly indicated when making hotel reservations. All requests for special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) must be made in a timely manner to allow staff to appropriately evaluate and take the actions needed to accommodate them. Any information obtained about any special needs will remain confidential.

Those who did not receive a confirmation number or who have any questions about the reservation process should contact the MMSB at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-800-321-4267 (ext. 4137 or 4144).

All of the hotels listed offer complimentary basic wireless internet in all public areas, the lobby, and all sleeping rooms.
NOTICE: Beware of Unauthorized Companies Soliciting Housing for the JMM
Please beware of aggressive housing bureaus and marketing groups that target potential attendees and exhibitors of this meeting. They are sometimes called "room poachers" or "room-block pirates" and these companies often position themselves as the meeting’s housing bureau or a marketing group working on behalf of the meeting. They try to convince attendees and exhibitors to unknowingly book outside the official room block. They call or email people who they think will more likely than not attend the meeting and lure them with room rates that are significantly less than the published group rate -- for a limited time only. And people who find this offer tempting may hand over their credit card data, believing they have scored a great rate and that their housing for the meeting is confirmed. Unfortunately, it is not and this often turns out to be the start of a long, costly nightmare for them.
JMM does not endorse booking hotel reservations via another company or source. These groups are not affiliated with the Joint Mathematics Meetings in any way. The only official housing bureau for this meeting is the MMSB and they would never call or email anyone to solicit reservations. The only way to book a room at a negotiated JMM rate is through the JMM registration form or through the MMSB.
JMM cannot be held responsible for any damages incurred as a result of hotel bookings made with unofficial housing bureaus and marketing groups and will not be able to assist you with any problems you may encounter with the terms of a third-party agreement.
If you are contacted by any of these groups, please email email@example.com immediately. If you are in doubt, please reach out to us immediately. Thank you for supporting the JMM 2024.
