Travel and Transportation
The 2025 Joint Mathematics Meetings will be held at the Seattle Convention Center, located at 705 Pike Street, Seattle, WA 98101-2310, in the Arch buildings. The JMM Registration Desk, exhibits, poster sessions, invited addresses, scientific sessions, Grad School Fair, Career Fair, and some social events, including the Grand Opening Reception, will be in the Seattle Convention Center. AMS Employment Center, PEPs, committee meetings, and the majority of the social events will be in the Sheraton Grand Seattle (headquarter hotel), located at 1400 6th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98101. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport
The main airport serving the region is the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), commonly known as Sea-Tac, which is served by all major airlines. It's situated at 17801 International Boulevard, SeaTac, WA, 98158, roughly 14 miles from downtown Seattle. Travelers can utilize the airport's interactive map for assistance and refer to the general ground transportation page for further information. Driving Directions
From Airport to the Seattle Convention Center: From the rental car center, head south toward S 160th Street and turn left onto S 160th Street. Merge onto WA-518 E via the right lane ramp toward I-5/I-405 Seattle/Tacoma. Then, use the left lane to merge onto I-5 N. Take Exit 164A for Dearborn Street toward James Street/Madison Street. Utilize any lane to take the Madison Street North ramp. Follow 7th Avenue, which leads onto Hubbell Place. From there, turn right onto Seneca Street, followed by a left onto 8th Avenue. The center is situated at Pike and 8th Avenue. Expect the drive to take approximately 30 minutes.
From Airport to the Sheraton Grand Seattle: To reach the Sheraton Grand Hotel, located at 1400 Sixth Avenue, Seattle, WA, 98101, from the rental car center, begin by heading south toward S 160th Street. Turn left onto S 160th Street, then merge onto WA-518 E via the right lane ramp toward I-5/I-405 Seattle/Tacoma. Next, merge onto I-5 N using the left lane. Take exit 165 toward Seneca Street, and upon exiting, turn right onto 6th Avenue. You'll find the hotel on your right. The entire drive typically takes around 30-35 minutes.
Ground Transportation
Airport Shuttle: Premier Airport Shuttle offers both shared and private door-to-door van services. For pricing and booking, visit the shuttle website. You can find a Premier Airport Shuttle kiosk in the Ground Transportation Plaza on Floor 3 (Ground Level) of the parking garage.
App-based ride shares (Lyft and Uber): The app-based rideshare pickup area is in the middle of the 3rd floor of the parking garage in the marked stall numbers 1 - 34 in the orange and purple sections of the garage. From baggage claim, passengers should go across the skybridges located one level above baggage claim (and a level below ticketing), and then go down one level to the 3rd floor.
Bus: The bus stops for King County Metro Transit routes serving SEA are situated on International Boulevard (State Highway 99) and South 176th Street near the SeaTac/Airport Link Light Rail station. Utilize the King County Metro’s Trip Planner tool to locate the next bus departing from the airport, inputting your desired destination. To reach the airport bus stops, access the walkway at the north end of the fourth floor of the Airport Parking Garage leading to the Sound Transit Link Light Rail Station, and then exit onto International Boulevard. You can access International Boulevard via the elevator or stairs on the west side of the station. The buses typically require approximately 40 minutes to reach Westlake Station and incur a fare of US\$3.00.
Car Rental: All major rental car companies maintain offices at the airport, including a dedicated rental car facility operating around the clock. For passenger pick-up, there are two designated areas outside on the lower drive at the baggage claim level. One is situated at the north end near Alaska Airlines, while the other is located at the south end, adjacent to the international terminal. Upon retrieving your checked bags on the baggage claim level, proceed through the sliding glass doors and make your way to one of the designated shuttle bus pick-up zones for transportation to the rental car facility. Seattle Sound Transit Link Light Rail: The SeaTac/Airport Station of the Sound Transit Light Rail connects directly to the fourth floor of the airport parking garage. Head to the fourth floor and access the Skybridge to the parking garage, then simply follow the signage provided. There's also a video available demonstrating the route for added convenience. From the SeaTac/Airport Station, board the train and travel to Westlake Station. Situated underground on Pine Street, between 3rd Avenue and 6th Avenue, Westlake Station is your destination. To reach the Sheraton Seattle from Westlake Station, proceed eastward on Pine Street for 1 to 2 blocks, then head south on Sixth Avenue for approximately 1 ½ blocks.
Trains run every 8 – 15 minutes from approximately 6:00 am to midnight. One-way fare is currently US\$3.00 to the Westlake station but can range from US\$2.25 to US\$3.50, depending on the stop. This trip takes approximately 40 minutes. See more schedule and additional information.
Taxi: Taxi pickup is located on the 3rd floor of the parking garage. Both Flat Rate Taxis and Metered Taxis are available. Metered taxis charge per mile/time and can be identified with a three-digit vehicle number and are painted a single color. Flat rate taxis offer a flat rate based on zip code and use a four-digit vehicle number and are painted in two colors. For assistance to the taxi pick-up location, use the airport’s interactive map. Wheelchair-accessible vans and 11-seat passenger vans are available. Parking
The Seattle Convention Center operates three garages and can accommodate up to 1490 vehicles. The Arch Garage, located at 1400 8th Avenue, is open from 5:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., seven days a week. The Summit Garage, located at 1009 Olive Way, is open from 5:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., seven days a week. The Freeway Park Garage is located at 1267 Hubbell Place, between Pike and Seneca Streets. Public Transit
Light Rail: The Seattle Sound Transit Link Light Rail runs from the University of Washington area to Angle Lake, making 18 stops along the way, including the Sea-Tac Airport, and several stops downtown. Fares currently range from US\$2.25 to US\$3.50, and are paid using ORCA cards, which is a transit pass that can be used on buses, light rail, and ferries. Another option is to download the Transit Go Ticket app, and use it to purchase tickets.
Bus: King County Metro Transit provides bus service in downtown Seattle and outlying neighborhoods. Schedules and route maps are available on the website. Fares currently range from US\$2.25 to US\$3.50 and can be paid with ORCA cards, the Transit Go Ticket app, or cash (exact fare only). Metro Transit has a helpful "How to ride” page. Monorail: The Seattle Center Monorail travels between the Westlake Center station on 5th Avenue and Pine, and Seattle Center, home to the Space Needle, the Pacific Science Center, and other attractions. The monorail departs approximately every 10 minutes from each of the two stations. The Monorail accepts ORCA cards and credit and debit cards. Fares are currently US\$3.50 for an adult and US\$1.70 for youths aged 6-18 years old and for seniors 65+ years old, disabled persons with Medicare cards, and U.S. Military with ID. Children 5 years and under are free. All fares are one-way.
Train
Seattle’s King Street Station is located just south of downtown at 303 S Jackson Street, Seattle, WA 98104, approximately 1.1 miles from the Seattle Convention Center.
